The work we have done.
And what it can mean for you.

For almost three decades, we have worked on assignments that require bringing people together, making decisions and putting them into practice. These are four selected examples from that work, of which we are particularly proud. Two describe individual engagements; two bring together our experience across numerous projects. They illustrate part of the breadth of our experience and the responsibilities we have taken on.

Energy infrastructure · Germany

The starting point
Along a route extending tens of kilometres, civil works, cable installation and numerous supporting specialist activities needed to be coordinated. Delivery required day-to-day alignment across several contractors and technical disciplines.
Our contribution
As part of the wider project team, we contributed to the management of a construction section and undertook construction supervision tasks. Our contribution included coordination with contractors and specialist supervisors, monitoring time, cost and quality, maintaining records and preparing for handover. We worked within a team of several dozen specialists from different disciplines and contributed to coordinating the external specialist services supporting construction.
The outcome
During our engagement, works on the section we supported progressed to plan and within budget. Together with the other participants, we contributed to a shared view of progress, quality and outstanding technical issues, connecting conditions on site with the project team’s decisions.

Fibre networks · Germany · Experience across numerous projects

The assignments
We have contributed to a large number of fibre network projects. Rather than list them individually, we bring together the experience gained across these assignments. Depending on the project, the work required coordination of civil works and duct installation, cable pulling and blowing, installation works, network nodes and points of presence (PoPs).
Our contribution
Within the scope agreed for each assignment, we undertook construction supervision, coordinated contractors and liaised with network operators, investors, designers and the relevant authorities. Our work included monitoring quality, schedules and progress, following up on defects and outstanding issues, and reviewing documentation for acceptance and handover. The specific responsibilities varied from project to project.
The working relationship
We hold framework agreements with several network operators and investors for construction supervision of fibre network rollouts. These provide a basis for cooperation across individual projects. The scope of services and deployment are agreed for each assignment.

The assignments
We have contributed to building projects of different uses, sizes and levels of complexity. This overview brings together selected experience from several projects. The assignments spanned preparation and development, design, construction and handover, with 3N’s contribution agreed separately for each engagement.
Our contribution
Across these projects, we worked in different roles: coordinating engineering tasks and managing design, leading and managing projects, supervising construction, providing technical advice and reviews, and supporting project-related contractual work. We connected our agreed responsibilities with the work of clients, designers, specialist disciplines and contractors. Not every project involved all these services; our role depended on the project stage, the agreed scope and the responsibility entrusted to us.
The experience gained
These assignments bring together experience from different project stages and areas of responsibility. They help us assess technical issues, time, cost and contractual requirements together, and tailor our contribution to the work at hand.

Industrial city: from concept to construction preparation

The starting point
Develop an industrial city with residential and commercial areas, planned within a future customs-free zone. The assignment brought together spatial planning, technical solutions, funding sources and cooperation with public authorities.
Our responsibilities
We developed the concept and led the planning, design and preparation of all required studies. We identified donors for project funding and investors for construction, coordinated activities with the relevant authorities and advised government institutions on the project’s development.
The outcome
We completed the required studies, plans and design documentation through to preparation for tendering. The industrial, residential and commercial areas were planned as an integrated whole.
